Museo Canario
The main museum is located in Las Palmas, it has the world's largest collection of Cro-Magnon skulls and some mummies. The museum also gives a comprehensive overview of
the history of Gran Canaria's original inhabitants, the fair-haired light-skinned Guanche people, who were conquered by the Spanish in the 15th century

Three water parks
Aqualand in Maspalomas is the biggest in the Canary Islands http://www.aspro-ocio.es/grancanaria/ (coupon on website for 15% off) it boasts 33 slides and 13 attractions, Oceano also in Maspalomas is much smaller, Puerto Rico also has its own small water park.
All the water parks open at 10.00 and close sometime after 17.00 depending on the season.
Palmitos Park
This zoological and botanical park is located 10km from Maspolamas and Playa de Ingles in the south of Gran Canaria. There are bird of prey, parrot, exotic bird and reptile displays. There is also primates island and an aquarium to enjoy among other attractions.

Sioux City
This is a wild west theme park situated in the resort of San Agustin. During the day you can see the houses, church, bank, ranch and saloon aswell as the Indian reservation. You can also watch the attractions such as "bank robbery", "town square hanging, Indian rain dance" and many more. On Friday evenings a wild west extravaganza night is held here.

Mundo Aborigen
Overlooking the biggest and most dramatic gorge on the island , Baranco de Fataga, this recreation of an ancient canary village can be found. There is also a separate museum and various shows and displays.
