Tenerife Resorts
Tenerife is one of the most popular tourist destinations within the Canary Islands and is also the largest island the canaries has to offer. There are a number of large and small resorts on the island, the largest and busiest is Playa de Las Americas which is well known for it's night life.
Although a busy island with tourists you will still find plenty of small villages and golden beaches for you to choose from which will offer some wonderful sights to some top water sports.
Playa de Las Americas - This is the busiest resort in Tenerife. Although known for plenty of tourists out clubbing and having fun it also offers some wonderful golden beaches, most of which are small, clean and ideal for water sports.
The most well known area is called Veronica's strip, this is around three kilometres long and is full of bars restaurants and clubs. Although Playa de Las Americas is known as the clubbers resorts it still has a lot to offer families.
Puerto de la Cruz - Is known as one of the most established resorts in the Canary Islands. Like many resorts Puerto de la Cruz still has a old town and new town. The old town is still very much traditional spanish with old cobbled streets
and houses where as the new town has been built up for the tourist. There is a very large varity of places to stay meaning you can either spend a lot and stop in a top class hotel or have a cheaper holiday in a 2 star apartments. Puerto de la Cruz has a
very good location and is close to many of the main attractions in Tenerife making this a good place for explorers to stay.
Los Cristianos - Known by some as the most popular resorts in the whole of the Canary Islands, Los Cristianos has still managed to keep a spanish feel. The main area is the harbour where throught the day you will find local fishermen out in the boats
and at night a wide range and selection of bars and restaurants. Like Puerto de la Cruz, Los Cristianos is well located for you to explore the Islands.
Santa Cruz - Well known for the harbour, it's one of the busiest harbours in Spain and also the deepest in the world. Needless to say this harbour sees a lot of boats coming in and out all day long making this a great place to sit back and watch the world go by.
One of the highlights of Santa Cruz is the shopping, with no real tourist areas within the resorts it does offer some of the best shopping in Tenerife.
